No Man’s Sky Delayed Once Again

Well… the game that has been known for causing severe headaches due to all the delays it’s already had, has once again been delayed! I’m not even surprised by this. I can remember talking to a former colleague a little more than two years ago about how this game will be featured at E3 for the next ten years before it gets released. Unfortunately for my ego, we only had to wait three years before we finally got a confirmed date of 6/21/16. However in vintage fashion it was pushed back a little further. Unlike previous delay time frames this one isn’t that bad of a wait. The PS4 and PC release of No Man’s Sky is now scheduled to arrive on August 9 in North America, followed by August 10 in Europe, and August 12 in the UK. Plan on getting No Man’s Sky? PRE-ORDER IT HERE!

Hello Games founder Sean Murray released an official response in an article on

“The game really has come together, and it’s such an incredible relief. As we sit an play it now, and as I watch playtesters every day, I can finally let myself get excited. We’re actually doing this.

However, as we approached our final deadlines, we realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special.

We understand that this news is disappointing. Making this game is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but we are so close now, and we’re prepared to make the tough choices to get it right.

The universe of No Man’s Sky is incredibly vast. More than you can imagine. This is a type of game that hasn’t been attempted before, by a smaller team than anyone would expect, under an intense amount of expectation.

And despite all of that, development is genuinely going well. This is the hardest working, most talented team I’ve ever worked with, and I’m so proud of what we’re doing. For all our sakes though, we get one shot to make this game and we can’t mess it up.

To the loyal community who’s stuck by our side since the unveiling of No Man’s Sky years ago, we hope you’ll accept our sincere apology and I am humbly asking that you’ll still look forward to exploring our universe despite the slight delay.”

Murray, is not kidding when he says this is the hardest thing he’s ever done in his life, who can forget the emotional speech he gave at E3 in 2014(Below). You can just tell that Murray puts everything on the line and has not been afraid to let his emotions overcome him in all of the interviews that he’s done over the years for this game and you have to respect him for that.

To get you even more excited for what will be one of the biggest releases of 2016, here is a series of screenshots that look awesome.

No Man’s Sky looks amazing, but looks can sometimes be deceiving especially in the world of video games (I’m looking at you Watch Dogs). I for one, do not like delays and this game has seen many. However Sean Murray has never been shy when it comes to the truth, his statement did not have any sense of panic to it, in fact it oozed confidence and that is very comforting. Gamers will have to wait until August to go on a 120 year adventure but at least we know the game is coming in 2016, right?

Hidden Room will be bringing you guys some great videos of No Man’s Sky when it’s released so be sure to stay tuned to Hidden Room’s YouTube channel and our social media sites. You can find all of Hidden Room’s social media links on the bottom of our homepage.
