It’s that time of the year again. E3 is right around the corner and we’re hoping for the best while preparing for the worst so strap in and get your predictin’ caps on! What game(s) are you most looking forward to seeing make an appearance at E3 2016?
Steve and Chris share their picks for show below.

- SOUTH PARK: The Fractured but Hole
Last year, gamers around the world were shocked to see the reveal of South Park: The Fractured But Hole! The sequel to the very popular South Park: Stick of Truth game that sold very well and more importantly was insanely fun to play. The Stick of Truth had everything any South Park fan would of wanted, hell even a trophy/achievement called Heisenberg (Breaking Bad tribute). Although The Fractured But Hole has been highly anticipated since the initial reveal, there has not been a single detail leaked, let alone any credible rumors! South Park has been on a noticeable hiatus from TV as well, making fans (like myself) suspect Matt Stone and Trey Parker are currently focused on the game. But are they really? The smart money says yes, but until we hear something new about the game let’s not get too excited. I fully predict that South Park: The Fractured But Hole (I love typing that) will make an appearance at E3 this year.
2. The Last of Us 2
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End came and went and by God was it worth the wait and all the delays! But now that Naughty Dog’s bread and butter has come to an end, what’s next? It could be The Last of Us 2? The game was confirmed last year but production was focused on Uncharted 4. Last of Us 2 has not been talked about, nor has it fallen victim to leaked information (unfortunately). My theory is that Naughty Dog had been working on this since the final Uncharted 4 delay back in March with the sole intention of having something to show at E3 this year! Am I reaching? Maybe, maybe not, regardless I am predicting that The Last of Us 2 will make an appearance.
3. Batman (Telltale Series)
Telltale Games is currently working on a brand new Batman series. Aside from the launch teaser which revealed absolutely nothing, there has not been any information on this game. All we know is that it will happen and that is going to be interesting to see. The game has already been confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One but I’m still holding out hope for a PS Vita version. And with a 2016 release date still slated it would make sense obviously to see this one make an appearance.
- Red Dead 3
I am not sure what the game’s final title will be, but I am sure of a few things. The third word in the title will begin with an “R”, horses may be involved somehow, and it will be amazing. Rockstar is an impressive company not only for producing some the best games of the last three console generations while setting and constantly raising the bar for the open world genre, but for doing it with a frustratingly small amount of leaked information. I can only imagine the kind of blackmail the higher ups have on the development staff. Until they tell us more, there really isn’t much to know. Red Dead Revolver took place around 1880 during the height of the Wild West, where as Red Dead Redemption was set around 1911 during the decline of the American Frontier. I would be surprised to see the third game overlap with either of it’s precursors so the safe bet is somewhere during the initial Westward Expansion. Perhaps we will get the Red Dead Oregon Trail I have been dreaming of since I finished Redemption? At this point I’d settle for a logo and a release date.
2. Your Friendly Neighborhood Unannounced Sucker Punch Game
I am not sure how I feel about this one. Since “platinuming” the entirety of the Infamous games I have been trawling the internet for any info on Sucker Punch’s next game. The most common rumor is that they are working on a new Spider-Man title which they definitely have the chops to do it, but unless there have been some very interesting backroom talks, they may not have the rights. Activision currently has the Spider-Man license locked down until 2017 so if this is happening we won’t be getting our sticky web covered hands on it for a while. That doesn’t mean they couldn’t have a new InFamous title with a conduit who controls webbing and swings through some kind of large metropolitan city named
Petro Parkman Chris Herrera. Please?
3.Mass Effect: Andromeda
This one is a little bit of a cheat since EA dropped out of E3 this year and is instead hosting their own thing. But since EA Play is at the same time and just down the street I’m going to go ahead and count it. When it was first announced we were treated to a slew of concept images and details. Since then information has been scarcer than element zero. What we do know is that Shepard and the crew of the Normandy won’t be involved, at least not as the main characters. I wouldn’t doubt seeing them mentioned on some datapads. Or maybe Garrus gets teleported there somehow because he’s so cool and he has to be there.
Bioware’s General Manager Aaryn Flynn, recently promised
• More Freedom: One of our biggest ambitions is to give players an unprecedented level of freedom for a Mass Effect experience –where you’ll go, how you’ll get there, and how you’ll play.
• New Uncharted Worlds: We’re leaving the Milky Way behind and headed to Andromeda, where we’ll meet new allies, confront new enemies, and explore fascinating new worlds.
• The Next Great Mass Effect Experience: Mass Effect: Andromeda will be the first Mass Effect game for today’s consoles and the first built on the Frostbite engine. We’re pushing the technology to deliver visuals, story, and gameplay that have never been done in franchise history.
All of that is as great as it is vague. I don’t know what exactly to expect and that’s what is most exciting. The unknown. To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before and to romance the creatures that live there.
